We could have continued this in the forum I originally posted the comment in, but... most superheroes aren't a part of the Batfamily. I like Steph in it, but it fed right into her need for validation. At some point she's got to grow beyond that and become a person in her own right, just as Dick needed to become Nightwing. There was never any reason Spoiler couldn't be accepted as a part of the family.

I like the way she's developed in her Batgirl run, but she doesn't own the mantle. (As editors have just proven.) Spoiler, on the other hand, is hers.
